2018 New Years Goals September Check In

2018 New Years Goals September Check In-Floarl Dress-Blommingdales-YSL-blogger-Style

I can’t believe the last time I checked in was in March! Time really flies. Back in January, I told you about the big goals I had for this year. I’m sure you had quite a list too! Today I wanted to update you on where I’m at, while also helping myself reevaluate how to attain these goals. Or, if there are some goals that are no longer my goals!

Are you with me? Dig out your goals or resolutions from the pits and let’s work through them together! If you read back on my posts you’ll see exactly how I ended up here.

2018 New Years Goals September Check In

Live a little. This one isn’t self-explanatory so here’s my text from January: Overall I want to experience more and live in the moment and purchase fewer things. I’m also quite neurotic so I’m going to try and be calmer and go with the flow more. I’ve hosted an event with Lord & Taylor, The Shoe Box and Bloomingdale’s so far this year.  I went to my first concert ever a few weeks ago. It was Drake at Madison Square Garden, so cool! One of my friends had suite tickets from work so it basically couldn’t have been a better situation for me since I hate crowds. Sounds like I’m living?! Haha!

Throw sh*t away. Wow, I totally forgot about this goal. Which is crazy because about a month ago I gave away a huge bag of clothes! And I also recently gave away some extra beauty products on my blog. I still have quite some way to go before I’m comfortable with clearing out my hoarding, but I’m certainly on my way there!

Buy a home with my boyfriend. Well, well, well. What a pain this is! So we have a realtor that we found back in February and I finally found a mortgage broker. There’s all this paperwork you need to do to get a pre-approval commitment (which is better than just a pre-approval, it’s like a guaranteed mortgage almost). And we’re just not in a rush anymore. Well, some days I am and other’s I’m so swamped with other things I just don’t care.

Big trip! You know, I just do think this is financially in the cards for us this year. Buying a house in insanely expensive so travel has moved down on my priority list this year. But who knows, never say never! It’s only September!

Grow Simply by Simone into a functioning business. While I’ve definitely grown Simply by Simone a lot this year, I still haven’t set up an LLC. I swear I procrastinate on the easiest things. I currently file all my blog items under myself. I’d love to make the move to LLC once it financially makes sense. To be revisited…

Pay off my student loans. Sooooooo close! Literally, that’s all I have to say. They’re a thorn in my side.

Workout consistently. I have been killing it in this category! I’m now on week six of consistently working out for 25 minutes four-five days a week! And yes, even during fashion week I’ve been doing my best to get three days in. You may remember I started off the year doing the bikini body guide, but as much as I loved it, I didn’t love working out at home. And I would do it at the gym, but I totally skeev touching the mats/floor.

Are you with me? Are you going to dig up your goals?

Here are a few tips:

  • Don’t feel bad if you haven’t accomplished any of them. Reevaluate their importance first.
  • If your goals are still important to you, make mini going to get yourself going again. If they no longer pertain to what you want, don’t obsess, just dump them! Life changes and so do you.
  • If you accomplished something, make sure you celebrate it! Because if you don’t what’s the point of setting goals anyway? Go out to dinner or treat yourself to a little gift!

While we’re here I might as well talk about this look, right? It’s my last true Summer looks. Although I’ll definitely still be rocking sandals from time to time, I’m going to start showcasing more Fall inspired looks. If you want to see my everyday outfits, make sure you’re following me on Instagram!  I love the scarf headband under the hat look. It’s something I’m going to try for Fall! And it’s something I wish I used more this Summer.

Finally, I hope you take the time to reevaluate your goals and resolutions. It’s an important step to take if you want to accomplish anything big or small! Even if you haven’t looked at your goals for months like me make some time, I promise you won’t regret it!

Nice post Simone, I was actually going to write a post similar to this. I also think September is the perfect time to re-evaluate your goals and do a check in with yourself. I’m wishing you many more events in Westchester like the one you did in Bloomingdales ??
