This isn’t just a long-sleeve shirt — the pointelle detailing makes it look instantly elevated, and the cream is the perfect base color for a fall capsule. Wear it layered under a blazer or tucked into denim for that French-girl ease. A plus that it’s made from organic cotton!

Fall is the season of cozy sweaters, and the Antione jumper epitomizes effortless chic. The black makes it endlessly versatile — pair it with denim for school drop-off or layer it over a slip skirt for dinner. Hair in the Olsen tuck of course. When I wear my vintage men’s Burberry trenchcoat, I always get asked for a similar option. I think I’ve finally found it in this trench. If you want a pop of plaid lining and something less tailored, I think the Clyde trench coat is also a great option.

The slightly shorter length shows off your shoes (hello, ankle boots), while the fit hugs in all the right places without ever feeling too tight. They’re polished enough for dinner but casual enough for every day — exactly what a capsule wardrobe piece should be.

If you’ve been searching for the perfect balloon leg trousers, these are it. The slight balloon leg gives the most flattering fit, the length works whether you’re taller or under 5’5” like me (a simple cuff makes them just right), and they style effortlessly with everything from a striped tee to a cozy sweater. Truly a capsule wardrobe staple you’ll wear nonstop.

I already own the Émilie cardigan in grey, and it’s one of my most-worn sweaters — which tells you everything you need to know. The dark taupe feels rich and elevated, the knit is soft but structured, and it layers beautifully over tees, dresses, or even button-downs. If you want a cozy sweater that truly goes with everything, this is it. And spoiler alert – I may have ordered the dark taupe.

That said, if you’re on the hunt for a classic piece, the Max shirt usually has a spot in the capsule. It’s one of those forever pieces I actually own and reach for year-round. Parisian women love it for its effortless, oversized fit — they pair it with jeans and ballet flats for that classic look. I like styling mine under a leather jacket in the fall for a more polished-meets-edgy vibe. If you prefer something more tailored, the Tomboy shirt is a great option.

The black shade makes them endlessly versatile — think jeans and a tee, tailored trousers, or even with a midi skirt. If you’re in the early stages of building your Fall capsule wardrobe, you don’t need to go out and purchase all twelve items. Making what I like to call a capsule wardrobe checklist on your phone is a great starting point. Including items that you’re reaching for and don’t have and that need an update. You can even use my suggestions to create a list to review against what you have in your closet. Going with neutral colors is another great way to ensure your new items will work with what you already own.
Sezane’s sizing. Sezane’s clothing tends to be more tailored so consider this when selecting your size. I get a size 6 for a more fitted look and a size 8 for a more relaxed look. In the knits, especially for layered fall outfits, I go for a size m so my arms have room. And when I was pregnant I’ve even purchased some tops in a 10. I’m normally a size 25/26 in jeans and I wear a size 6/8 in their bottoms. The Clyde trenchcoat is the perfect fit for me in a size 6 (normal size), where I would normally go a size up on a jacket/coat.
