If you followed my how-to create a self-hosted blog on WordPress post, bravo to you! One of the things I didn’t have a chance to add on that post are my favorite WordPress plugins. What is a plugin you ask? Simply stated it’s software that adds features to your website. You want your website to be seen and to look it’s best am I right?! So today I’m sharing WordPress plugins ever blogger needs to download now!
WordPress Plugins Every Blogger Needs To Download
**Most of these plugins can only be used with a self-hosted, wordpress.org, site. Want to know how to make your blog self hosted? Check out my post.
Yoast SEO – You spend all this time writing your posts, you want them seen don’t you? Search engine optimization (or SEO) is something you want to get familiar with as a blogger. Yoast helps you create posts that will rank on google and bing. It checks your posts keywords optimization, readability, and so much more.
Pinterest PIN IT Button – Make it easy for your readers to save photos they love on your website. This plugin adds a little red Pinterest button anytime someone hovers over your photo. It helps remind your readers to save your content! Which is what we all want, right?! Pinterest is a massive search engine that generates tons of traffic to many websites. You want your photos to be pinned!
MailMunch – This adds a pop-up window to your site allowing your visitors to subscribe to your email list. MailMunch is easy to use and a perfect way for you to stay connected to your readers. Once you start collecting emails you can send out newsletters and updates directly through this plugin. If you’re just starting out I can’t stress enough how important this WordPress plugin is! You will thank me later.
Askimet Anti Spam – This one little plugin literally blocks hundreds of thousands of spam comments on my site. SO NECESSARY to keep your site looking clean and professional.
Google Analytics Dashboard – WordPress tracks your data, but google analytics is what matters. This widget helps you EASILY add your site to google analytics. Before I self-hosted my site, it was torture to get google analytics to work with my site. I had to copy and paste codes, nothing made sense. This plugin makes it so easy. And tracking your website data is important if you’re serious about all your hard work that goes into your posts!
Why use plugins?
Finally, as content creators and bloggers, we spend a majority of our time putting so much effort into creating content people will find valuable and inspiring. Which I why I wanted to share these WordPress plugins every blogger needs to download! We are all different and can all be successful, so learn from me and use these! You can even browse the plugin library on WordPress to find other plugins you may find useful.

Let’s Talk About This Look…
I wore this look to lunch with my cousins over the weekend. Tom and I drove up to Dutchess County and ate this cute little restaurant, Heritage Food + Drink. Normally on the weekends I like being comfortable but I’ve been wearing sneakers so much lately so I knew I wanted to wear booties. I love pairing fun pieces back with neutrals so I went with my favorite pair of black jeans and my classic Chanel bag. If you’re thinking of getting a Chanel bag check out this post! I’ve been dying to wear this green sweater I got over Christmas and it worked with the coat so I went for it. If I didn’t do the green sweater I probably would have done a plain black turtleneck so showcase this amazing coat!
Sizing: I’m wearing a size 4 in the floral coat, and to be honest I think it’s a bit be even for me. Looking back I would have gone with a size 2. The sweater is a size small.
Shop my look!
My coat is on sale and now UNDER $50!! And so my sweater that comes in 11 additional colors! Don’t miss out!
