Styling Staples: Bomber Jacket + Leather Jacket

Styling staples can be tricky because if you wear a number of staples together, you end up with an average looking outfit. Which is fine if that’s what you’re into. But you’re here, so I’m guessing you’re looking to be a little more exceptional than your average, and maybe for a little inspo? Am I right? Personally, I think there can never be enough style inspiration for staples you already have in your closet. I love looking for inspiration on Pinterest, on the streets of New York City and in magazines and on their websites. You could say in regards to inspiration, more is always more for me.

I find my style to be edgy yet classic. I like to throw in a fun piece or two with seemingly basic styles. When Members Only sent me these jackets I’m showcasing today I knew exactly how I wanted to style them. For the leather jacket, I wanted to do something casual and comfortable because the blue fur already adds a fun highlight. For the bomber, I instantly pictured it with these AMAZING new boots that had just arrived!

I paired the leather jacket with this cozy and comfortable NYC sweatshirt. Threw on some jeans (you should check them out, they are super comfortable and affordable!) as I would any other day, and some chunky heeled boots to make the look a bit more elevated than everyday casual. If I wore this with sneakers I feel like it could be running to the food store appropriate! Haha! The jeans I’m wearing are sold out right now but I also love this similar wash and this light wash!

For my second look, first, let’s talk about bomber jackets. I have this gut feeling they are here to stay for awhile. I think the classic varsity style bomber, like the one I’m wearing, will become a repeated style in the ever-changing fashion world. Bombers are perfect for layering and a bit more eye-catching than your standard leather.

This keyhole design box bag is an old piece I just picked up from a DVF employee sample sale so I’m sad to say it’s not available anywhere! But I found some really cute vintage looking bags that you can shop at the bottom of the post along with the rest of my look!
