Some of the best advice I can give to you is to always invest in your shoes and handbags. These key investments will keep you looking like a million bucks while also allowing you to keep your money in the bank (crazy I know, I’ll explain).

Silk blouses, designer skirts and cashmere knits are great – there’s no debating that – but the best items to invest in are shoes and handbags. A designer handbag is an eye catching piece, even if you’re wearing a skirt from forever 21 or in my case this week, ASOS. People will always look at your bag first. It could be because there’s a part of all of us that would love to own each and every Chanel bag ever created (please tell me I’m not the only one!). Plus, perception is everything. People will alway perceive that your entire outfit is expensive if you’re wearing a nice pair of shoes and a designer bag. A perfect example of this is when you find out Gigi or Kendall is wearing an item from Zara or Topshop. You totally think they’re wearing a VERY expensive designer item and it turns out to be fast fashion (which is always the best) because of their impeccable style and high end accessories. So save the silk and invest in the shoes!

Most of us can’t have it all, so if you have to invest, go for the shoes or new handbag. Do this once or twice, or as often as your budget allows, and invest in these quality accessories. A Chanel bag/ shoes are never going to fall apart and they will always hold their value. While we’re on that point, so do many other mid-range designers, like Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Longchamp. I tell you this from experience, I’m a big Ebay-er and my old (gently used, I’m very good with my things) SELL! If you don’t want to take my word for it, just take a look at what the vintage Chanel bag I linked above/below is selling for! Basically the retail price! There are people who have and use their high end designer bags and shoes until the end, so if you only purchase one, then essentially you’re all set. Quality is forever.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Comment below and let me know if you agree/ disagree or any overall thoughts!
