If there’s one thing I do a lot of, it is cooking. Even before the throws of baby-led weaning, cooking has always been therapeutic for me. It helped me save money; I don’t think there was ever a job I had where I didn’t make and bring my lunch. Meals bring people together and remind me of places, people, and life events. It’s a space where I learned to accept defeat, yet try it again until I can truly enjoy the fruits, or chicken, of my labor.
While I’m not a master chef my enjoyment of cooking does give me a perspective on the Our Place Always Pan. I’ll share some of my most loved, and not-so-loved meals I’ve made in my Always Pans, along with some opinions and experiences I’ve received from others online after sharing my thoughts on the line.
Let’s get into my unbiased Always Pan review where I dive into the question, Is This All-in-One Cookware Worth It?
Unbiased Always Pan Review
Quality
I’ve had the original and the 2.0 and I find if the use instructions are followed they will last for years. I’m not always the best at following instructions, so I’ve used metal cooking utensils and they do knick the pan. This means the non-stick doesn’t work as well over time.
The ceramic nonstick coating is as clean as it gets. It’s made without lead, cadmium, and, potentially toxic materials like PFAS (including PTFEs and PFOAs).
Finally, lighter pan colors will show stains. From either the fire underneath or stains from food. I have the stone color and it has a bit of discoloration after a year but overall it still works great.
Versatility
I love that the Always Pan 2.0 is now oven-safe up to 450 degrees. The 10.5-inch pan comes with a stainless steel steam bin for veggies. Both the Mini and the 10.5-inch come with lids and wooden spatulas too that have a hole so they can rest right on the pan. I’ve fried meatballs, chicken cutlets, cooked eggs, pancakes, hamburgers, broccoli, orzo, and shepherd’s pie… if I’m cooking, I’m almost always using my Always Pan.
I often place my Always Pan on the dining room table. Making one less plate to clean and it looks more aesthetic than a traditional cast iron or stainless steel pan.
Ease of Use
Pros: The Always Pan 2.0 is made to do almost anything. Fry, steam, bake, saute, boil, and bake making it my go-to cookware. It’s appealing enough to even leave on my stove when I don’t feel like putting it away. It also has an indentation on both sides making it easy to pour out liquid. Weight wise I would say it’s comparable to other pans of its size and material.
Cons: The front handle does get hot so you have to be very careful.
Cleaning
The Always Pan 2.0’s non-stick surface makes it easy to clean. I would say around the year and a half mark it does start to wear, but again, I don’t follow the use instructions to a T. You also can’t get stains off of the outer material, so if you get a lighter color that’s something you want to clean right away if possible. It is dishwasher safe, but I always handwash mine.
Is This All-in-One Cookware Worth It?
For me, the answer is always yes, this all-in-one cookware is worth it. I often refer to my Always Pan as my only pan because it’s the only pan I want to use. Anything non-stick is going to wear off overtime even with the best care, so I would rather use the cleanest option. I will say my eggs are sticking more these days. The staining doesn’t bother me, you can’t see the bottom most part when it’s sitting on the table and my side stains are minor. If you follow the care instructions you’ll be able to get the most out of this pan and enjoy it and its versatility. Finally, I hope you found this Always Pan review helpful!
