With any quote, my first thought is always did this person really say this? Either way, whether Maya said this or not it’s definitely something she stood for. Being successful isn’t having all the money in the world, or having the most power, real success gives you satisfaction in yourself. If you have to lie and steal everyday, but it contributes to your promotion, how would that feel? I personally couldn’t deal with it. This is definitely easier said than done, but it’s something I try to practice everyday. I wake up and remind myself to be thankful for each day. It’s hard enough going through a routine and doing the same things over and over again, it’s another thing to actually enjoy what you’re doing.
