I created this capsule wardrobe guide to help you figure out what you’re missing. Plus, inspire some looks for the cold weather ahead!
What brand is best for a capsule wardrobe? The best part about a capsule wardrobe is that it doesn’t have to be just one brand. I like the ease of shopping one brand at a time as the colors, cuts, and styles tend to all work really well together. Sezane is one of my favorite French brands and they do an amazing job of creating classic wardrobe staples. I can pull out a Sezane item from my closet that’s five years old and it still feels current today.
Having twelve items ou can mix and match will help you create endless outfits, or in our case, 48 outfits. Now let’s get into the Sezane Winter Capsule wardrobe of your dreams!
Sezane Winter Capsule Wardrobe – 12 Pieces 48 Outfits
Sezane Winter Sweaters
1. Maurice Jumper
A fresh black sweater is a Winter staple. I love the ribbed neckline on this one.
2. Leopard Betty Cardigan
The Merino wool and leopard print make this cardigan cool and cozy. It’s a nice thick fabric so I love layering it on cold winter days.
3. Olive Green Valerio Jacket
This has a nice weight and can easily be dressed up or down. This olive green is everywhere this season and it’s the perfect addition to your closet if you like earth tones.
Sezane Winter Trousers
4. Wide Leg Trousers
Screaming how much I love these jeans from the rooftops! The straight cut and wide leg fit is perfect. I’m around 5″5′ and the length is great for a nice big cuff-up.
5. Cropped Trousers
So nice they’re worth having in another color. The material on these is thick making them perfect for winter. I have these in a size down for a more tailored fit.
6. High-Waisted Trousers
You may only be going into an office three days a week (or zero like me), but trousers are such a staple. They’re easier to move in than a pair of jeans and they look polished even paired with a long sleeve shirt. So yes, this is a great staple to add to your closet!
Winter Coats
7. Mederick Coat
A black coat is a wardrobe staple. You’ll notice it’s not included in the photos below but trust me when I tell you it goes with every outfit. If you don’t already have a black winter coat you grab all the time, this would make a great edition.
Clyde Coat
I recently purchased this in a size 6 and there’s so much to love about it. It has a very luxurious look and feel to it, and it’s warm without being too heavy. Sizes have been going in and out of stock, but if it’s your style I highly recommend creating a stock alert! They often become available again!
Winter Blouses
8. Embroidered Blouse
Holiday events and New Year catch-ups always seem to creep up on me. Having a dressier blouse to layer under blazers, cardigans, and jackets is a much-needed staple. This one has a great stretch to it.
Jordyna Guipure Blouse
If you already have a lot of solids, I love this contrasting guipure blouse. I recently grabbed this in a size 6 and I should have gone down a size. If you’re not familiar, like myself, guipure is a heavy lace so expect this blouse to have a nice weight to it!
Accessories
9. Classic Penny Loafers
Take advantage of flat shoes being in. These loafers are comfortable yet polished-looking no matter the outfit.
10. Chunky Heel Ankle Boots
Winter is arguably the most important season when it comes to shoes. The patent leather and the stacked leather heel will survive the snow and rain and still look great.
11. Gabin Bag
You can wear this carry-all bag to the office, dinner, or shopping, it’s even big enough to use as a toddler bag. Aka a diaper or two, wipes and a small changing pad will fit in here. It’s also available in four additional colors/materials. It was so hard to choose between the camel and the brown suede!
12. Half-Moon Crossbody Bag
This is another wear-anywhere bag, except smaller. Making it great for events and travel when you don’t want to carry a ton of things around.
If this Winter is your first season curating a capsule wardrobe, you don’t have to go out and purchase every item all at once. Instead, go through your closet to see what you have and make a capsule wardrobe checklist on your phone with what you need.
