Quince Bedding Review To Read Before You Buy Quince Bedding

At the beginning of last year, I was on the hunt for new bedding. Fiona had ripped my Pottery Barn duvet that was on our bed after one too many bleached-added washes. The material had become brittle and it was easy as a simple scratch to get comfortable from our dog that did it in. Enter Quince. I saw Quince bedding all over the internet so I decided to try it due to the affordable price point and the look. It closely matched the style of my current duvet cover I was using without a duvet insert because it was way too warm.

After over one year use, including weekly washes, this is my honest Quince bedding review you should read before you buy Quince bedding.

Honest Quince Bedding Review To Read Before You Buy Quince Bedding

First I’m reviewing the Organic Ribbed Cotton Coverlet Set in white. It was $99.90, and I purchased it on Feb 7, 2023. I know the price is relative to your financial situation so personally, I found this to be affordable. It reminded me of the Pottery Barn set I was replacing that was triple the cost, so I knew I would be happy with the look at a minimum. I purchased it in the queen size and it fits my queen size bed perfect. This was my first time buying from the Quince home section. I’ve shopped their clothing (my mom is a long time customer and turned me on!) and I like that Quince was a direct-to-consumer brand with transparent pricing. Sometimes I find their clothing sizing and descriptions not as accurate as I would like, mostly with the fit of their sweaters. In this case, the bedding description matched my expectations when it arrived.

Quince Bedding Review on Quality

Pros: First things first, having a dog that we let on the bed, a one-year-old, myself, and my husband who likes to indulge in some bedtime snacking, overall I’ve found it can stand the test. It has not ripped, no stray threads and average stains wash out relatively well. We recently got a new washer, but prior I used our very old one (that literally came with the house!) and It survived over a year of washing in that. It’s also 100% organic cotton and made without the use of harmful chemicals or pesticides certified with oeko-tex standard.

It’s made with organic long-staple cotton. Sleeping on organic materials is important to me because it’s a healthier choice for your skin! And beneficial especially if you have sensitive skin like me. The stitching gives it a high quality textured quilted look without adding extra unneeded weight.

Cons: The underside (the side that we sleep with on us) has a bit of pilling. Nothing major that my fabric shaver can’t fix, but it is something to note. (image below)

Quince Bedding Review on Care

Because it’s not big and bulky I’m able to throw this in our own washing machine at home on the gentle cycle. Personally I like using Honest or Mrs. Myeres Detergent and Liquid Bluing to keep it white. I have never used bleach as I find it makes the fabric more brittle and dries it out. For stains I swear by Whip It, and if that leaves any residue, Shout. I also use the Whip it on my daughter’s clothing and it has never bothered her sensitive skin! You know that’s such a win if you have a toddler!

Quince Bedding Review on Comfort

Pros: The coverlet is very lightweight, which is a pro personally. Normally I would use a blanket like this as a throw blanket at the bottom of the bed, but our mattress holds our body heat so I was searching for something very light. If you want a heavy comforter this is not it. The material itself has ridges but overall feels soft on the skin. The first night we used it I was pleasantly surprised I didn’t wake up hot in the middle of the night! Hot sleepers (like me) will love this quilt because again, it’s so lightweight. This makes it perfect for year-round use, and especially during the warmer months. My husband is more of a cold sleeper so he’ll also use the throw blankets I keep on the bed. I think this would also look great as a folded blanket and the end of the bed over a big fluffy duvet if that’s what you’re looking for!

Cons: As I said above, this specific Quince bedding set is very lightweight and 100% organic cotton so on extra cold nights, I like to have another blanket nearby. It’s very rare that this happens for me, but if you’re not always hot just keep it in mind.

Finally, overall I’m happy with my purchase. This set is a great option for someone who likes quality sustainable materials at a reasonable price point. The overall quality has held up well and after one year of washing our Quince bedding has kept the same feel. Overall I like Quince products and their price range, especially for organic bedding. The only drawback has been the pilling, but again, I can easily fix this myself. I find Quince’s website easy to navigate and I love that it’s a one-stop shop (aka I can grab a sweater her too!).

I hope you enjoyed my quince review! I have a home section on my site for all things home, (like my always pan review). If you want to see more reviews like this as always feel free to sound off in the comments.

I’m also in the market for a new fitted sheet and flat sheet set and I’m thinking of trying the quince sheets. Has anyone ever tried the linen sheet set? We currently have organic cotton percale from a now defunct brand and they’ve seen better days. Let me know in the comments!
