I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand people who always have to be right. I get it, I don’t enjoy being wrong either but come on, you can’t be right all the time. I think it’s our tendency, and human nature, to want to be right. We want to say the right thing, do the right thing, be the right person and know all the answers (unless your a serial killer – kidding, kind of). The reality of that is, you just can’t know everything, you can’t always do the right thing and people will respect your for admitting your mistakes.
I love to look at this as, if I was right and I knew everything, I would have no reason. Why would you travel if you already knew what the world was like? I would never want to know everything without experiencing it. I work so hard, and it’s not easy when I do something wrong to accept it, but I always remind myself that being wrong and making mistakes is the best way to learn and grow.
Today I challenge you to not be so hard on yourself when you make a mistake or when you don’t know the answer to a question. Accept your mistakes, learn from them (I always like to make a written note) and move on.
