So, what makes you feel IN CHARGE? Didn’t think I was going to start off by asking you that question did you? Well, start thinking!

If you’re new here, I work at DVF and IN CHARGE is a new movement. I guess you could actually call it a campaign, but when you see the passion in everyone’s eyes about it, you just know it’s more than that. As for me, personally, I feel IN CHARGE when I say no and when I ask others for help. There is something so powerful about saying no and having that control when you don’t want to do something. And on the other hand, there is something so humbling about asking people for help when you need it.
Those are probably the two hardest decisions for me to make. When to say no and when to ask others for help as these actions make me feel most vulnerable. Yet they also make me feel in control and contribute to my personal growth.
I think the most important aspect of being in charge is holding that power. You have always had the ability to make your own decisions. To choose what you want to do. So take that power back. Don’t let other people make choices for you at work, school or at home. Own your responsibilities and take charge of anything you want out of life.
