I file my (limited) tie-dye pieces in my closet under classics. They’re my go to for a warm day in the summer and a pick-me-up in a gloomy April storm. There was a long period where I gravitated toward statement pieces and for the handful I still love, I’m happy I did. This Polo button-down (circa 2019) is one of my all-time favorites. It’s one of those things I don’t think I’ll ever part with.
If you’re new here, I consistently share capsule wardrobe guides, so you may be wondering where tie-dye fits in. One of my favorite brands to peruse is the Elder Statesman. One of their cashmere sweaters is on my list of must-have items. They’ve been doing a tie-dye print for years and it’s what inspired this tie-dye edit.
Below you will find a roundup of second-hand and vintage tye-die items that caught my eye. The beauty of the post-pandemic tie-dye boom is that you can find great quality pieces, in excellent condition at a fraction of the cost.
I love pairing tie-dye pieces with solids, so if you feel your capsule wardrobe is getting a little bland, this may be exactly what you need.
