There’s also Nordstrom, American Eagle, Aerie, Intimissimi, H&M, Zara, and White House Black Market. Making it truly a one-stop shop for your fall wardrobe essentials.
The SoNo Collection Essential Capsule Wardrobe Items for Fall
When it comes to building your capsule wardrobe, our essentials include neutral-colored pants or trousers, maxi dresses, a striped sweater, an everyday sweater or sweater vest, a leather jacket, and loafers. While I’ve linked these items for my non-locals, for my tri-state area shoppers, all these items were in-store in late August. So chances are, you can grab these and similar items right now!
1. Striped Sweaters
Do you really need a striped sweater in your capsule wardrobe? The answer is yes. Striped sweaters are classic, especially if you grab them in neutral colors. Drape them over your shoulders for a coastal grandmother look, or wear them over our next item, the maxi dress for the perfect layer.
2. Maxi Dresses
Slip dresses and maxi dresses will quickly become essential in your capsule wardrobe. They can be worn year-round, especially when you become a pro at layering dresses and sweaters in the fall.
3. Trousers and Pants
I feel like this is always a place that can use a refresh when you’re creating the perfect capsule wardrobe. Donate the old pants that don’t fit and get rid of the ones that have stains you can’t quite get rid of.
4. Loafers
Building a capsule wardrobe starts from the feet up, and loafers will quickly become your best friend. While there are times when these are trending more than others, loafers are classic whether they’re chunky loafers or sleek patent leather loafers, these are an easy go-to.
5. Sweater Vests
Sweater vests are an essential capsule wardrobe item. If your fall into more of a New England style or a New York City street style, a sweater vest is both functional and practical. They allow you to step into fall without overheating when the weather isn’t quite cool enough. And will add great texture to any look.
6. Leather Jackets
Whether you’re creating a capsule wardrobe for work or a capsule wardrobe for school a leather jacket is the perfect edition. For a more professional look go with the blazer style, for a nicer going-out look, good for the biker jacket.
