NYFW Fall 2019 Recap – A Goodbye to SS 2020 and Cellphones

From cell phone lock up to only showing current collections, fashion week has finally started to take a turn for the better. This year’s NYFW Fall 2019 recap will include everything I loved to why I agree with fashion week sans cellphones. I’ll also explain why I’m saying goodbye to SS 2020.  A Goodbye to SS 2020 and Cellphones Catching up to the social media, iPhone-as-an-appendage-of-the-body era has been pretty disruptive in all industries across the board. With fast fashion immediately knocking off designs that aren’t set to arrive until six months later, to runway shows where everyone has their…

NYFW Recap: Irina Vitjaz F/W 2017

Irina Vitjaz NYFW F/W 2017 Collection The Russian born Austrian fashion designer Irina Vitjaz certainly wowed this season with the best and the brightest dresses. The collection was a mix of looks that were either vibrant and airy or deep and serious. Think summer wedding vs. black tie event. Creating such a versatile collection is not easy to do yet Vitjaz was able to execute these very contrasting styles seamlessly. For me the, the yellow gown stole the show. I think I heard almost everyone gasp when the model walked out. My photos don’t do the beaded belt justice, but trust, it’s truly…

NYFW Recap: Louis Verdad F/W 2017

Verdad NYFW F/W 2017 Collection Photography by Noam Galai Louis Verdad is a 15-year fashion industry veteran who brought sophisticated street style to the table this year. I can tell you right now he can eat alone because his F/W 17′ collection is that good. Just about every item is totally wearable. Each piece exemplifies from runway to street. If you’re trying to curate an effortless style take note from this collection. My favorite items were the jackets and coats, each one was more effortless than the last. Take a look at the patent leather jacket above and try and tell me you…

NYFW Recap: Taoray Wang F/W 2017

Taoray Wang NYFW F/W 2017 Collection Wang Tao successfully added sex appeal and a feminine touch to otherwise modest menswear pieces in her Taoray Wang Collection. With an admirable education in history and fashion, Tao effortlessly combines the two in her namesake line. Most looks could be worn from office to dinner, with some minor alterations (ie. layering under a lace negligee during the day). Overall there was a mostly neutral palate with pops of fuchsia in the lining and stitching. If you’re looking to update your work wardrobe or if you’re going for a ‘who run the world’ girl…

NYFW Recap: Michael Costello F/W 2017

Michael Costello NYFW F/W 2017 Collection Michael Costello has become a name familiar to many partially due to his time on Project Runway. If you don’t know him from the reality TV Show then you definitely remember that sheer white lace number Beyoncé wore to the Grammy’s in 2014. To-die-for (find it here). Referred to as a prodigy (with good measure, he started a couture collection when he was 14 years old) Costello brought his A-game to the table for his F/W 2017 collection. Sex appeal with just the right amount of romance is how I would sum up the…
