This Spring, I’m sharing more capsule wardrobes, starting here with the Sezane Spring Capsule Wardrobe, using 12 pieces to create 48 outfits! You may have a lot of these staples in your closet already, but if you don’t, this guide will help you figure out what you need to hopefully hone into your personal style.
While a capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to come all from the same brand, I love setting the stage with just one. Designers, creative directors, and the like create collections that tell a story. And give a great deal of focus to making each collection they launch cohesive. So, the story, colors, prints, and silhouettes work seamlessly together and are easy to mix and match across the line. I love Sezane because each year, when I update these posts, I only have to swap out a few items. Making not only the brand but the guide a great example of reworking and re-wearing these timeless pieces.
Having at least twelve items you can mix and match can create endless outfits or, in our case, 48 outfits.
Now, let’s get you the Sezane Spring Capsule wardrobe of your dreams.
Sezane Spring Capsule Wardrobe – 12 Pieces 48 Outfits
1. Gaspard Cardigan
Arguably one of the most well-known Sezane items, the Gaspard Cardigan is a classic wardrobe staple. It’s a perfect piece to layer with a T-shirt or wear open over a blouse. A classic cardigan is one of those key pieces you can wear with everything.
I usually take a medium for an oversized fit and a small for a more tailored look.
2. Betty Cardigan
You may have noticed some color in my last capsule wardrobe guide. You can still have a capsule wardrobe with some pops of color. While I consider navy a neutral, it can add some nice variation to your closet. If your personal style is a bit more polished, this cardigan will be a great addition. I love the crochet detail, and it’s a beautiful merino wool.
3. Max Shirt
Another item you’ll always find in my Sezane Capsule Wardrobe Guides is the Max shirt. It’s the ideal boyfriend fit without being boxy or too oversized. Paired with the navy cardigan draped over your shoulder would be such a fun Spring look. Another one of my go-to outfits would be the Canadian tuxedo. If that’s not you, I can’t recommend this enough as your staple white button-down for your Spring wardrobe. It’s one of my favorite pieces in my closet.
I usually take a size 6.
4. Clyde Trench Coat
A trench coat is a Spring capsule wardrobe staple. I adore all the intricate details in Sezane’s clothing, particularly the plaid lining that subtly reveals itself as you move. Or run through the rain! It’s perfect for cooler days and this style will truly stand the test of time as one of those key pieces in your closet.
5. Le Crop Jeans
I’m a denim girl, so finding the right fit can sometimes feel like an endless hunt. The Le Crop jeans are a great addition to your Spring capsule wardrobe. I’m 5’5″ and these hit me right above the ankle bone. They’re ideal wide-leg jeans that are a bit flared from the knee down and more fitted at the hips. I take a size six, and the fit is perfect.
If you like skinny jeans, I would opt for the brut sexy jeans instead.
6. Damon Trousers
Keeping with the crop, these trousers will be your best friend this Spring. I love how they can be worn more formally with a tailored blouse or casually with leather jackets. And the crop is just at the right spot, with an added detail of the cuff at the bottom. I got these in a size 4 for a more tailored fit, but a 6 would have fit as well.
7. Pippa Dress
This dress will take you from desk to drinks effortlessly this Spring. A little black dress is an excellent addition to any capsule wardrobe. The tie waist and the ankle length caught my eye on this one.
8. Emma Blouse
Completing the clothing section of this Sezane Spring Capsule Wardrobe a lace blouse. It’s essential to have something a bit more elegant in your closet for a special occasion. The loose sleeves and the deep v-neckline make this comfortable yet elevated.
9. Justine Basket
Transitioning to the accessories section, the Justine Basket effortlessly transitions you from Spring to Summer with its versatile design. Featuring leather handles available in both short and long straps, this bag offers practicality and style.
I also own and love the Paloma basket.
10. The Tote
Your capsule wardrobe should also include a more elevated bag. The Tote is a great addition because the suede makes it look beautiful, and the size allows you to fit all the essentials. If this time in your life calls for a larger bag (I’m in the sea that is mom-life right now), I have and love the Gabin Bag as my beautiful catch-all bag.
11. Rosa Low Sandals
Essential for warmer days, these braided sandals pair well with just about everything. I find gold or nude sandals that elongate the leg, making it ideal for someone like me who’s on the shorter side. I find myself in between a 6.5 and 7 in all Sezane shoes.
12. Albane Loafers
The final item in your Sezane Spring Capsule Wardrobe is a pair of black loafers. You never know what weather Spring can bring and loafers are the perfect shoe for the job!
Sezane Size Guide
Sezane’s items are more tailored so take this into consideration when selecting your size.
For blouses and shirts for a more tailored look, I get a size 6, for a more casual fit I get an 8.
In sweaters, I go for a medium for the space in the arms.
In bottoms I tend to take a size 6, but I can fit into a size 4. I carry more weight in my hips and a 6 gives me more room, while a 4 offers a tailored fit.
Shoes I normally take a size 7. In Sezane I’m between a 6.5 and a 7, sometimes a 7 is a bit too big. I have a wider foot with a high instep.
