Motivation Monday – The Power of your Words

Motivation Monday - The Power of your Words-Simply by Simone-Inspiration-Quote-The Game of Life-Westchester County-Blogger

We’ve all be told to think before we speak, but this post is not entirely about how your words affect others. Of course, you should be careful with what you say to your fellow human, but what about all the things we say about ourselves? On today’s Motivation Monday I’m asking you to think about the way you talk to yourself, others and the power of your words.

I’m fat, ugly, too tall, not smart enough, hair is frizzy, worthless, clingy, annoying. I mean you know the list goes on and on. And I’m guilty of it myself. I’ve always found humor in making fun on myself a bit. But would you say the things you say about yourself about someone else? To their face? Then you shouldn’t be saying them about yourself. Your internal dialog, the conversations you have in your own head, should always be positive.

I’ve read a number of books about manifestation and they all talk about how powerful our words are. We can literally speak anything into existence if we believe it to be true. So the more I talk about how fat I feel, the more I manifest things that make me fat in my life. Like getting sick so I can’t work out, or my Dad buying chips and dip 24/7. I bring these things upon myself, even though I’m just joking. The universe only knows words, not if they’re good or bad, joking or not.

Even if you don’t believe in manifesting things into your life (but you should), we should still all be kinder to ourselves. This is the only body we have and the only one life we get to live. Why not be our own cheerleader? Think about ourselves highly? Believe we can accomplish anything? The hardest muscle to train is your brain. So if you can get out of your own head, it will change your life.

Finally, in addition to the power of your words, there are two main things that will get your head in a better space:

  1. Surround yourself with positive people. You are who you surround yourself with.
  2. Surround yourself with positive words or mantras. What you see is what you will believe.
