Step into Luxury: Freda Salvador Shoe Review & Style Guide

Freda Salvador Shoe Review & Style Guide Collage of Shoes, Outfits and Shoe Closeups

Regarding style, luxury, for me, is directly aligned with comfort. With a wide (-ish) foot and a high instep, finding shoes whose style I love but are also comfortable has been an upward battle. And now, three pairs in, Freda Salvador has become a mainstay in my shoe wardrobe.

So far I’ve tried the Jada Handwoven Ballet Flat in silver and black, the Elba Penny Loafer in black spazzolato, the Sera Fisherman Sandal in stucco suede and the Brooke Rain Resistant Boot. So, my takeaways will come from these four styles. I plan on updating this post as I add more!

Freda Salvador Shoe Review & Style Guide

Freda Salvador Shoe Sizing

First, the community is next-level. You rarely find item reviews that aren’t flooded with complaints. The Freda community gives the best advice with each Freda Salvador shoe review. They share their pain points and sizing in other shoes and brands, breaking it down in the comments on their site. It was probably the most helpful thing I did when deciding on my size.

A Bit About Freda Salvador

FRĒDA Salvador shoes are handcrafted using high quality materials by family factories in Spain and El Salvador. The Leather Working Group certifies raw materials, and all items are made in small batches to limit waste. The brand is women-founded and led and is based in Sausalito, California right outside of San Francisco. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the team members and co-founders, Cristina Palomo-Nelson and Megan Papay, and they’re some of the most extraordinary women you’ll ever meet.

While I love new products and their latest collection launches, this review will focus on their classic styles. Each new shoe I add to my closet becomes an everyday essential for me!

Freda Salvador Brooke Rain Resistant Boot Review

Freda Salvador Brooke Rain Resistant Boot ReviewI wanted to add this to my post because I recently tried the Brooke rain resistant book on in store and I was blown away! First the Algae Calf color is beautiful and a great in-between shade if you like to wear alot of black, brown and navy. This colorway is limited edition and would look great with everything. These were the perfect fit and are true to size (7), and even with my instep height, I was able to slide these right on without issue.

While I haven’t pulled the trigger on these just yet, I can tell you when I took off the boots I walked in and tried these on the elevated comfort of the Brooke boot footbed was very apparent. And I wasn’t wearing inexpensive boots either, and before putting on the Brooke boots I considered them comfortable. But wow, once you know better, the superiority of the Freda Salvador boots was clear.

I now understand why these are a most-loved boot of many. The timeless style paired with the padded footbed would be a pleasant new addition in any closet.

Freda Salvador Jada Handwoven Ballet Flat Review

Freda-Salvador-JADA-SQUARE-TOE-BALLET-FLATI purchased the Jada handwoven ballet flat in a size 7, my usual size. The fit is perfect, and I was blown away by how incredibly soft the leather is. They almost mold to your feet and allow you to move naturally and comfortably. Style-wise, I think the woven leather makes an great everyday look more eye-catching.

I took about 8k steps in these, and I got a blister on the back of one foot, but that was because I didn’t wear peds socks. Rookie mistake, I know. Otherwise, with normal wear, I have not had a problem with blisters or marks anywhere on my feet.

As for the overall fit, I have had no issues with tightness over the top of my foot. With most flats that come up midway above the toes I tend to get a deep mark with all-day wear due to my high instep, these do not do that.

If you like a classic almond toe shape, I was told in-store recently that the Roma round toe ballet flat would be a great option for a wider foot as well with it’s roomy round toe!

Freda Salvador Elba Penny Loafer ReviewFreda-Salvador-ELBA-PENNY-LOAFER

I purchased the frēda salvador elba penny loafer in size 7.5, half a size larger than my usual size, 7. I’m happy I went up half a size because these are made to last. Their craftsmanship is so sturdy that they’re a solid pair of penny loafers that will look good forever.

I’ve worn these to run errands, an event in New York City, and dinner. I have had zero discomfort, and I also love the fit. Loafers can sometimes pinch the top and sides of my feet with a broader foot. These hold their shape but are not tight. I did choose to go up a half size so I would not have any issues with the tightness on the sides.

Crafted with 100% Italian leather in black spazzolato, which is leather that has been brushed and polished by hand to create a high-shine finish. I love the notched welt detailing around the outside of the shoe and the classic shape and timeless style. They come in nine additional colorways and are such a wardrobe staple!

Freda Salvador Sera Fisherman Sandal Review

Freda Salvador SERA FISHERMAN SANDAL in Stucco Suede Stain Resistant with Studs

I wear the Freda Salvador Sera Fisherman Sandals in my normal size, 7. They have a nice amount of room in the toe, so that I could have gone with a 6.5. However, they are not big in the back, so my heel slides out without issue. The suede soles are so comfortable.

They have a suede footbed, but I’ve worn these on one of the hottest days in July, and my feet did not sweat! There is some buckling of the center horizontal strap (I’ve walked a lot in these!), but otherwise, the suede still looks fantastic after being worn for a few months. I can see myself wearing these well into the fall with socks.

Made with 100% Italian leather and silver-plated metal studs. Online, it does state the studs may patina over time, but mine have not as of yet. The footbed is also suede. When I pair these with a dress I feel like the ultimate cool girl.
