This Winter I’m sharing more capsule wardrobes starting here with the Everlane Winter Capsule Wardrobe, using 10 pieces to create 36 outfits! You probably have a lot of these staples in your closet already, but if you don’t this guide will help you figure out what you need.
While a capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to come all from the same brand, I love setting the stage with just one. Designers, creative directors, and the like create collections that tell a story. And give a great deal of focus to making each collection they launch cohesive. So the story, colors, prints, and silhouettes work seamlessly together and are easy to mix and match across the line. So while you may have a black turtle neck in your wardrobe already, the looks below will give you a good idea about what you may want to add.
Having at least ten items you can mix and match can create endless outfits or in our case, 36 outfits. Even more, if you layer the turtle neck under the other two sweaters in the selection. And if you need more ideas, you can check out additional Capsule Wardrobe Guides for Everlane, H&M, and Mango!
If you add one item to your wardrobe this season it has to be the quilted coat. I love that this one isn’t as structured, making it perfect for layering. And let’s be serious, I would rather wear a water-resistant trench coat with cozy layers underneath than a giant long puffer coat. Maybe that’s just me, but you will get a TON of use out of this in the Spring and Fall as well.
Now, let’s get you the Everlane Winter Capsule wardrobe of your dreams.
Everlane Winter Capsule Wardrobe – 10 Pieces 36 Outfits
1. ReNew Quilted Long Liner
This coat also comes in black and brown but I love the idea of adding some color to the mix. This muted shade of sage will match with almost anything, making it easy to pair with items you already own.
2. ReNew Long Puffer
If you live in the Northeast or another climate with cold winters a puffer is a must. I love the ease of a relaxed fit puffer, but as a plus, it also has a hidden drawstring waist.
3. The Studio Bag
This bag has been in the guide three years and counting. I love that it fit’s a laptop so it can be used as a work or travel bag. Yet the smooth leather and the structured shape keep it sophisticated.
4. Cloud Oversized Turtleneck
The drop shoulder, knit and the alpaca merino blend, make this sweater look so luxurious. If the cream isn’t your color, there are five additional shades.
5. Organic Cotton Relaxed Cardigan
The chunky knit and the relaxed shape make this stripe cardigan a perfect edition to your winter wardrobe.
6. Felted Marino Half-Zip Sweater
A half-zip is my go to when I don’t know what to wear. The knit and material allows this one to fall somewhere between casual and elevated.
7. The 90s Cheeky Jean
Anything with a vintage inspired silhouette instantly is a go in my book. There’s something so effortless about vintage denim, and this pair will be perfect on cold winter days.
8. High-Way Drape Pant
These are the best trousers I own, they have a wider waistband and are the perfect length.
9. The Day Mary Jane
I’ve been on the search for mary janes for years. This is one of those items that’s trending now, but never actually goes out of style.
10. City Boot
For the days that weather doesn’t permit a mary-jane, a boot is a necessity in your capsule winter wardrobe. These have a small block heel that help dress them up.
10 Pieces 36 Outfits – Your Everlane Winter Capsule Wardrobe
If you’re just starting your capsule wardrobe, you don’t have to load up on all ten items. It’s best to add one or two items you can see yourself wearing often. Like boots or a sweater. See how many outfits you can make with items you currently own! This will help you decide what’s missing.
While I select neutral colors, it’s okay to wear color! I have too much color in my wardrobe which is why I went back to the basics. And seeing the looks come together with neutral-toned items makes my heart happy. It’s so easy to add a pop of color or a fun print when you have the right basics in place. So have the right basics!
