As many of you know, I update all my capsule wardrobe posts each season. Last year, I told myself I would not add any new capsule wardrobe posts to my site, but I couldn’t skip this. After perusing Everlane’s new Spring drop along with their Everlane Editions: Destination Vacation edit and realizing I didn’t have an Everlane Spring Capsule Wardrobe Guide to update, I knew it had to be added.
A capsule wardrobe is a curated collection of timeless clothing. In this climate of ever-changing trends and overconsumption, picking out those essential items can feel difficult. The best part is capsule wardrobes can save you money, time getting ready, and space in your home and closet.
Over the past year, I’ve decluttered, resold, and donated many items, especially as my body type has changed since having kids. I can’t recommend a closet cleanout enough to help with creating a capsule wardrobe. Plus, it’s the perfect time to clean out your spring wardrobe. During this transition, adding versatile, high-quality pieces that fit your lifestyle is important. The more you refine, the more confident you’ll become in your personal style.

Everlane Spring Capsule Wardrobe
1. Relaxed Oxford Shirt
A button-down is a staple in my closet. I love purchasing them one size bigger for an oversized fit with jeans or leggings. It’s also one of those items I wear to death, so it’s always good to check in and see if your whites still look fresh for the season.
2. The Luxe Rib Long-Sleeve Crew
This is a piece that can take you through all the seasons. Made with Supima cotton, it’s perfect for layering on chillier Spring days or wearing alone in warmer weather.
3. Slim Crew in Essential Cotton
A white t-shirt is an essential item in your closet and the perfect layering piece. Wear under a blazer or cardigan when the weather calls for it. I have a love-hate relationship with refreshing my whites because sometimes it is so hard to let go of a favorite tee!
4. Cotton Honeycomb Cardigan
I always keep an eye out for the details that matter and the thick rib-stitched hem makes this cardigan look polished. The contrast buttons make it great to pair with black, I would also enjoy this with a tonal look.
5. The Boxy Crew in Cashmere
Butter yellow, I know. Doesn’t exactly seem like a capsule wardrobe staple, but it can be! If you’ve been refining your wardrobe for some time, adding color is a great way to explore your style. And with an abundance of neutrals in your closet, a little color is easy to mix in! I love a cashmere sweaters draped over the shoulders in the Spring.
Alternate option: The Mariner Rugby Top would be my second pick for a more statement item. If you’re a big fan of rugby tops, this should be an easy addition to your closet. I find them a bit more preppy than my personal style, so while I would personally pass, this is a great find for the right closet!
6. Oversized Blazer in Buttersmooth
A blazer is a staple in any capsule wardrobe. Can always make a look more elevated or can be paired with jeans for a more casual look. Either way, it’s a versatile item and a high quality basics that’s great to have on hand for cooler Spring evenings.
Another option is the Modern Trench Coat. I have an older version, so I can’t speak to this one, but it has to be one of the brand’s best new styles. I love the front storm flap detail!
7. Way-High Curve Jeans
The MVP of a Spring Capsule Wardrobe is loose-fitting ecru jeans. Not quite a stark white, but bright in preparation for the warmer months ahead. I take my usual size in Everlane jeans, which is a 26/6.
8.Mid-Way Jean
If I could describe these in one way, it would be a straight leg jeans that meet baggy jeans, creating the perfect pair of denim. These also have a little bit of stretch for the perfect amount of flexibility.
9. Utility Barrel Pant
A barrel leg hits me in all the right places and gives a nice amount of room from the mid-thigh to the mid-calf (both my personal problem areas). But are more fitted at the top and the ankles for a bit of shape. I own these and would definitely consider these a barrel jeans, although they’re described as pants. The material reminds me of denim, perfect for cooler weather.
10. Day Mary Jane
I featured these in black in my Winter Capsule Wardrobe, so it’s no surprise I have them on this list in canvas. While these may be on the rise in popularity now, mary jane’s are classic shoes that have been around for decades. These are such great shoes for warmer days!
11. Boat Shoe
If you’re sick of loafers and love ballet flats, the boat shoe is a great spring footwear option for your Spring wardrobe.
12. Studio Bag
Now this is a structured carry-all bag. The light taupe color makes this a Spring capsule staple perfect for any look.
