The reality is, sometimes I just don’t have time to work out. It’s 5:30 a.m. as I’m writing this, so this morning I chose my blog over the gym. Sue me. But it doesn’t mean I won’t do something good for my body. Today I’m sharing 3 easy tips for staying in shape on a workaholics schedule.

3 Easy Tips For Staying In Shape On A Workaholics Schedule

  1. Commit to easy exercise five days a week. Every morning, without fail, I’ve committed to 1 minute of planking, 25-50 squats, and 10-20 push-ups. Afterward, I stretch for five minutes. Since I didn’t get to the gym this morning I’ll do this. It’s definitely not a lot but it’s something and anything is always greater than nothing. Make yourself a little mini workout plan and stick to it. You can decide what you do; even start out with just stretching every morning.
  2. Ditch the regular bread at breakfast. I love oatmeal in the winter, which is a great alternative to anything I would add bread too. Like eggs for example. It’s so hard for me to have a sunny egg without toast. And I love eggs in the warmer months. So, if you’re like me, get yourself some fitness bread. I like Mestemacher, Fitness Bread, it tastes good and my body (and digestive system) loves it too.
  3. Get enough sleep. I know if you’re someone who’s always on the go how hard this can be. But when you can, and as often as you can, get 8 hours of sleep. Believe me, I know it’s not always possible but make it a point to try. I have an alert on my health app (look for health data on the bottom once you open the app, then sleep) that tells me it’s time to go to bed.

I stick to the top three tactics during really busy moments in my life. You may think these three little things will do nothing for you, but again, anything is better than eating a bagel every morning and waking up late to get ready for work. It’s worth a try if you feel pressed for ‘time’ to be healthy. These tips will keep your body in shape and ready for your next real workout.

That said I’m not always this busy and there are times in my life where I’m happy and comfortable going to the gym or working out every morning. Either way, when I’m going to really work out (aka not my ten-minute circuit above) I want to be in workout clothes that make me feel comfortable. Which is why I love Stronger. When their #Throwback sets came out I knew I had to have one!

Their sets are comfortable and stylish, which is key for a workaholic or not. Becuase who doesn’t want to be able to head to their next stop after a workout? Let’s face it, we’re not always going straight home for a shower. It happens. And if I need to stop at Lord & Taylor (aka the holy meeting ground of Scarsdale/Eastchester) you better bet my workout clothes need to be stylish!

If you’re still here, you obviously need some help getting back in shape. So my advice is just to commit to something, I’m no health freak and my body isn’t perfect, but neither is life. You can choose to make these small changes. They’re good for your body and are so minimal anyone can do it. And if new workout clothes motivate you to workout?  Treat yourself to some Stronger gear, so the next time you run into someone after the gym you’ll feel confident in your workout look!
