Dreaming of Spring: Swimsuits To Grab STAT!

Anyone else dreaming of Spring? Sometimes I look out the window on a sunny day and pretend it’s warm out. And although it’s still freezing here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s time to start shopping for swimsuits. It always seems crazy to me, but everything I like goes out of stock so quickly.

Swimsuit shopping tips:

  • Don’t do halter tops. Halter tops make me hunch over, and I don’t even have big boobs. They always hurt my neck no matter how thick the strap is. Honestly, even strapless is more comfortable than a halter. If you’re looking for comfort, definitely do a bra style top!
  • Get the high waist bottoms. If you’re like me and f*ed up your whole fitness routine this Winter, go for the high waist bottoms. Or if you’re just looking for something new, try it. There’s no reason to feel bad about yourself in a bikini so just find what works for you.
  • Neoprene doesn’t move, especially if you get a full coverage bottom. I have two suits that are neoprene and they just don’t move well. They’re cute and I still wear them, but just be aware.
  • High cut sides. Elongate those legs with high cut bottoms or with a one-piece with high cut sides. But not too high, then they look weird. Find your happy medium! For me, I like when the sides come up to right below my hipbone.
  • Long torso? Size up and find a fun stretchy belt! I love the old school buckle look that Off-White has been showing. One of my swimsuits came with a belt, so that’s another option too! Try to find an inexpensive one piece with a belt, if you don’t like the one I linked!

Shopping for swimsuits should be fun! I love ordering and ordering and returning what I don’t like. Go to stores, try new brands, start shopping now so you don’t have to settle! You will feel your best in a swimsuit that you love.
