Since I’ve spent my whole waking life in Westchester County, it’s crazy I didn’t decide to do this sooner! This Saturday, September 8th, I’m hosting the Bloomingdale’s White Plains fashion show. Following the runway show, there will be a mix and mingle of local entrepreneurs, business owners and various professionals, influencers, and students! I’ve been so fortunate that I can attend events in New York City through my blog. I’ve met so many amazing people at these events, but the problem is they are so rarely, if ever, in Westchester. Through this event, I’m hoping to connect the influential community in Westchester!

My personal connection with Bloomingdale’s White Plains…
When I was seventeen years old, I worked at the local CVS. One day a salesperson at Bloomingdale’s recruited me to work at the store in White Plains. As someone who’s always loved fashion (but could never afford it), it was HUGE to me at the time. A few months later, on my eighteenth birthday (per their policy I couldn’t work there before then) I was hired to sell handbags. Over the years I moved within the departments, from accessories to watches to fine jewelry. I also picked up shifts in women and men’s clothing to work extra hours. There was MANY a weekend I gave up to make extra money. Spending so much of my time in the store, I made tons of friends and connections that I’ve kept until this day.
So much of my career was spent at Bloomingdale’s. After college when I found my first job that required a bachelor’s degree *eye roll*, I stayed working at Bloomies part-time. When I was in between jobs, I worked there full-time and started my blog. I ended up working at Bloomies until February of 2017. The people and the customers there truly became my family over those nine years.
The perfect store for the event…
Something I noticed a long time ago about Bloomingdale’s is that they always pick up new designers. And not just any new designers, the really small ones that are just starting out. When I worked there, I quickly noticed I knew about new brands before anyone else and way before the hype. I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but the fashion industry is very competitive, so for a large store like Bloomingdale’s to pick up a smaller, new brand, it’s a huge deal. In my mind, there was no better place to host the show and really bring NYFW to Westchester County!

My look…
A big thank you to Bloomingdale’s for gifting me this dress! I wanted to showcase another look that’s perfect for Fall. Because Summer doesn’t officially end until September 22nd, and it’s warm through October, it’s not always easy to wear an outfit that feels like Fall. Last week I offered up a bunch of tips on creating a warm weather Fall look, perfect for every day and NYFW! My favorite street style looks are usually from Copenhagen fashion week because they’re so effortless and real.
This colored leopard dress made my look on trend, but also effortless since it’s an easy wrap dress. I made it pop with the white booties and baker boy cap! And if you have a designer bag to add to the mix, it won’t hurt!
If you’re Westchester County-based, or nearby, I hope to see you at the event! If you’re not in the area, don’t worry because I’m going to recap it on the blog. I’m so unbelievably excited that I get to work with a company that I worked at for so long, representing my own brand. Bloomingdale’s White Plains is truly like no other store in the world! See you there!
