This fashion week I wanted to show you events and shows that I felt were a little different and less plastered in your face through Instagram stories. As much as I love the exhilaration of a good runway show, I definitely enjoy presentations more. They offer a much more intimate experience with the new collection and you also get a better viewing of what’s to come. On the runway, everything goes by you super quick and I end up looking at the collections online after. What I found to be even more intimate and interesting is the work that goes on behind the scenes. The masterpiece of the Tibi show starts long before the runway, and today I want to take you one step back… backstage with Aveda right before the show that is. This is when the art that glues the show together happens in my opinion.
The inspiration for the Fall/Winter 2018 Tibi collection was the rawness of New York City and the street style it encompasses. Think about all the different textures, materials and bold colors all around NYC. And what better looks to wear in the organized chaos then these new Tibi looks below?! You know I’m not one for many colors in my wardrobe, but I’m loving these bold hues and you’re definitely going to see me in more of them!
Hair by Frank Rizzieri for Aveda
Now that you have an idea about clothing let’s talk hair. “To give hair just a touch of relaxed waves, spray Texture Tonic throughout and gently twist in small sections. Clip the hair and let it air dry. Remove the clips to reveal an easy textured look,” says Rizzieri. The hair was styled to a perfectly “done, undone look”. The idea was to work with each model’s natural hair and to not overdo it. This created a natural, effortless hairstyle that embodied New York City.

Makeup by Sarah Lucero for Stila
Playing off of New York City’s geometric architecture Sarah created an eye-catching look (literally). The makeup was natural excluding the pop of color on the eyes. Making it both bold and raw just the city and the Tibi collection.
Tips from Stila: “Use multiple liner colors with eye makeup to add a pop of unexpected detail to the look.”
