I like to think of myself as someone who is pretty educated in the beauty space. From PR events and my mom (she worked for Clinique in her 20s!) I’ve learned a lot over the years about skincare and beauty. Since the beauty realm is considered a science, it is ever changing. Today I want to share 3 beauty tips I learned from Chanel at Suburbs 101 event at Bloomingdale’s White Plains!
3 Beauty Tips I Learned From Chanel
- Toner balances your skin’s pH. I always felt toner dried out my skin and thought it was for evening your skin tone (which mine is already even), so I stopped using it. When in fact it’s actually supposed to balance the pH of your skin. You should use it after you wash your face, and then moisturize. Which brings me to my next tip.
- Look at the ingredients. As for toner, alcohol shouldn’t be one of the first four ingredients. This was what was probably drying out my face. Checking out the ingredients in your skincare is just as important as checking ingredients in your food!
- Use applicators you’re comfortable with. While talking about applying foundation and concealer the main takeaway is that you should use what you feel most comfortable with. With so many brushes and applicators out there, using what comes easily to you is best! Pro tip: You can dampen your foundation brush like you would a beauty blender!
Bonus tip: You don’t have to use everything. If you have naturally rosy cheeks you don’t have to use blush. If the bags under your eyes aren’t bad this morning, don’t use concealer. Going through all the steps we’re taught isn’t always necessary or for everyone. Do you.
