There is something so magical about a rainy Summer day. I love the way the water makes everything glisten. It gives off a feeling that the world has been cleansed, and the smell is so refreshing to me. But now listen, if you’re hosting a mostly outdoor event in the Summer and there’s forecast for rain it’s stress city for you. Helen Phillips (@styleinherited) and Faith Perry (@thebicoastalbrunette) handled this semi-rainy day with confidence. You would have never known the event was meant to be exclusively outside.
A Summer Soirée With My Favorite Connecticut Bloggers
It’s no secret I love people. #libralife Getting to spend time with the Connecticut community was so special.
Helen and I met back in October when she invited me to Club Sweat for the first time. It was love at first workout, we even ended up co-hosting a class together in June. I think it was friends at first workout sesh for us too! Her vibe is grade A, you can feel her authenticity and her positive energy when you’re around her.
Faith and I met for the first time at Helen and my workout class. Her personality is so fun, bubbly and exciting. You’ll find yourself smiling when she’s around.
A few of my other favorites that were in attendance this evening include @zac.mathias, @caitlinhoustonblog, @amy_guzzi_, @sophia.cari, @campbymama, @shamikapandit, @twentyfiveplus5, @stephstell, @mycandidcloset, and @laney__nicole. All of which I’ve either found on Instagram (LOL seriously) or met through Helen and Zac, how great is it to expand your community and make new friends?
Speaking of new friends, @abitofbets and I have been friends on Instagram for months and we finally got to meet in person! And I also was able to connect with @nicolezusilifestyle, @homewiththewileys, @ninabclarke, @simplysophisticatedstylist, @craftedbyanamarie, and @turquoiseandsunshine!
I love my Connecticut bloggers and influencers! For anyone that doesn’t know, part of New York borders Connecticut very closely. I feel so lucky to be a part of two amazing communities!
Location, location, location: The Garden Gate Estate
Did I mention where we were? Dubbed ‘The Garden Gate Estate’ this space lives up to its name and then some. The Victorian home has been fully redone, keeping only the necessary original architectural and design aspects to make this home the perfect mix of vintage and new. When you meet the owner, Stacy Book, her radiance and good energy shine through. She invited us into her home, gave almost every single person a full tour and by the time I left, I felt like we were old friends.
Helen and Faith ended up setting the event semi-inside and outside as the rain had mostly subsided by the time we arrived. The wrap-around porch in the backyard has a stunning view of the pool and the Tipsy Trailer that they had sitting in the backyard! There was a great flow of movement from in-to-out and I really feel like I got to connect with almost everyone at the event.
Community Support
It seems like everyone in the Connecticut community came together to support this Summer Soirée. If I could recommend three things for you to try in Connecticut it would be Palmers Bakery (check out those lemon shaped cookies and that cake!), Cylinder Vodka came in with the perfect Summer cocktail and Fjord Fish Market’s sushi and seafood platters were delicious! Overall, everything was absolutely amazing.

I think sometimes people can forget that influencers LOVE community. We are usually social people even though most of our business exists behind a computer. To see these wonderful Connecticut brands support my friends was a beautiful collaboration!
