Living in the Northeast I begin to crave the sun come April. Flowers start to bloom, the bare trees slowly regain their luster. Then the sun blankets its warmth over us and the urgency of heading to the beach kicks in. This reminds me of all the reasons I love to live so close to the coast.
You don’t need to live near a beach to have a coastal capsule wardrobe. If the change in season has you craving all things raffia, stripes, linen, and refinement in your closet, you’re at the right place. Typically I’ll list out a number of outfit ideas you can create with twelve or so staples but I’m doing this a bit differently today. This is a roundup of all items that radiate the coast. Add items where you need them in your closet, no need to overload. Overall this season of life is about simplicity for me, so I find picking and choosing a piece or two I love is better than trying to overhaul my entire wardrobe.
I’ve selected a number of my favorite items for your summer coastal capsule wardrobe guide. At the bottom, you’ll find additional items to inspire your coastal style. You may even have some of these items in your closet already!
