I’m sharing another capsule wardrobe blog post starting here with the Sezane Fall Capsule Wardrobe, using 12 pieces to create 48 outfits! You may already have many of these key pieces from last year, but if you don’t this capsule wardrobe guide will help you figure out what you need.
I love Sezane because it’s a sustainable brand and certified B Corp. The brand offers great style options for day and night and a generally neutral color palette with some pops of bright colors. And if you love how French women dress, Sezane clothing is a great place to start when collecting items for your capsule wardrobe. Plus, if Fall is your favorite season (like me, it’s Libra season too after all!), Sezane also has an extensive sweater collection! As a customer for over seven years, it’s truly one of my favorite French brands.
What brand is best for a capsule wardrobe? Sezane is one of my favorite brands. I’ve been a customer for over six years now, and I can honestly tell you their item’s last. The quality and the craftsmanship always blow me away for the moderate price point. So if you’re looking for wardrobe staples with a luxe feel without the price tag, this is a great brand.
A capsule wardrobe does not have to be all from the same brand. But shopping from the same brand is a great way to curate your personal style and select items that fit you best. So pick a brand that aligns with you, if you have a classic style and like casual looks Sezane is a great brand for you. The main focus should be to have at least twelve items you can mix and match so you can create endless outfits or in our case, 48 outfits.
If you add one item to your capsule wardrobe this season it has to be the trench coat. It’s a capsule wardrobe basic that you’ll use again and again. And it will transition you into the Spring next year perfectly.
Now, let’s get you the Sezane Fall Capsule wardrobe of your dreams.

1. Camil T-Shirt
This isn’t just a t-shirt — the pointelle detailing makes it look instantly elevated, and the burgundy adds just the right pop of color to a fall capsule. Wear it layered under a blazer or tucked into denim for that French-girl ease. A plus that it’s made from organic cotton!
2. Sama Jumper
Fall is the season of cozy sweaters, and the Sama jumper epitomizes effortless chic. The light beige makes it endlessly versatile — pair it with denim for school drop-off or layer it over a slip skirt for dinner. It’s the kind of knit you’ll wear on repeat and never get tired of.
3. Gaspard Cardigan
Arguably one of the most iconic sézane essentials, the Gaspard cardigan is easy to wear and perfect for that relaxed french girl style. From a simple look with black jeans and white sneakers or over a dress, it’s one of the easiest ways to elevate your closet. I also own the Betty cardigan which I find myself grabbing for a more polished look and the Basile cardigan for more casual looks. I find the Gaspard is the perfect in-between and grab for it the most!
4. Clyde Trench Coat
When I wear my vintage men’s Burberry trenchcoat I always get asked for a similar option. I think I’ve finally found it in this trench. It’s a relaxed fit, a bit oversized and one of those essential items for fall. The plaid lining gives it that chic Parisian style and the water-repellent material can’t be beat. If you want something a bit more tailored I think the Scott trench coat is also a great option.
5. Wide Leg Trousers
If you’ve been searching for the perfect wide leg jeans, these are it. The high waist gives the most flattering fit, the length works whether you’re taller or under 5’5” like me (a simple cuff makes them just right), and they style effortlessly with everything from a striped tee to a cozy sweater. Truly a capsule wardrobe staple you’ll wear nonstop.
6. Le Crop Jeans
These black cropped jeans are the ultimate day-to-night denim. The slightly shorter length shows off your shoes (hello, ankle boots), while the fit hugs in all the right places without ever feeling too tight. They’re polished enough for dinner but casual enough for every day — exactly what a capsule wardrobe piece should be.
7. Emilie Cardigan
I already own the Émilie cardigan in grey, and it’s one of my most-worn sweaters — which tells you everything you need to know. The dark taupe feels rich and elevated, the knit is soft but structured, and it layers beautifully over tees, dresses, or even button-downs. If you want a cozy sweater that truly goes with everything, this is it. And spoiler alert – I may have ordered the dark taupe.
8. Max Shirt
The Max shirt is one of those forever pieces I actually own and reach for year-round. Parisian women love it for its effortless, oversized fit — they pair it with jeans and ballet flats for that classic look. I like styling mine under a leather jacket in the fall for a more polished-meets-edgy vibe. If you prefer something more tailored, the Tomboy shirt is a great option.
9. Caroline Loafers
The Caroline loafers in sand are the kind of shoe that instantly elevates even the simplest outfit. The neutral shade makes them endlessly versatile — think jeans and a tee, tailored trousers, or even with a midi skirt. They strike that perfect balance of polished and practical, which is exactly what you want in a fall capsule wardrobe shoe.
1o. Paulette Low Boots
The Paulette low boots are a more everyday-friendly version of the higher-heeled style I love. Sleek and polished, they pair effortlessly with jeans, skirts, or dresses, and the neutral tone makes them a versatile capsule wardrobe staple. These are exactly the kind of boots you’ll reach for again and again
11. Gary Bag
Rounding out this autumn capsule wardrobe, we have handbags. I own a bucket bag that I love, and I think this style is perfect for everyday wear. The Gary bag in black leather is sleek, structured, and timeless — it instantly elevates any outfit while still being practical enough for errands or work. Definitely a bag you’ll want to carry everywhere.
12. Claude Bag
I own the Claude bag in black and love it, so I can confidently say this glossy burgundy is the perfect pop of color for fall. Sleek and structured, it works beautifully for day or night, and if you don’t already have a black dressier bag, the classic black is always a safe, versatile option.
12 Pieces 48 Outfits – Your Sezane Capsule Wardrobe Outfit Ideas

If you’re in the early stages of building your Fall capsule wardrobe, you don’t need to go out and purchase all twelve items. Making what I like to call a capsule wardrobe checklist on your phone is a great starting point. Including items that you’re reaching for and don’t have and that need an update. You can even use my suggestions to create a list to review against what you have in your closet. Going with neutral colors is another great way to ensure your new items will work with what you already own.
Sezane’s sizing. Sezane’s clothing tends to be more tailored so consider this when selecting your size. I get a size 6 for a more fitted look and a size 8 for a more relaxed look. In the knits, especially for layered fall outfits, I go for a size m so my arms have room. And now that I’m pregnant I’ve even purchased some tops in a 10. I’m normally a size 25/26 in jeans and I wear a size 6/8 in their bottoms. The Clyde trenchcoat is the perfect fit for me in a size 6 (normal size), where I would normally go a size up on a jacket/coat.
