Yes, yes and more yes to this quote! You won’t realize how helpful pushing aside your negitive thoughts are, until you look back and realize how miserable you were before you started. I’ve always naturally been the type of person who looks at the glass half empty, but around 5 or 6 years ago I started to try and change my thoughts (it’s quite exhausting being cranky 24/7). Anytime I thought of something negitive I replaced it with something positive. Simply stated, it was as easy as changing, I hate this class to, I’m lucky that I have the ability to attend college and reminding myself that some people aren’t as fortunate as me. Years later I read the book, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. From her book I implemented always saying thank you in my head and out loud. Simply being thankful the little things in life, like your health and your family and friends can make all the difference in your mood.
When I started my blog, I was in between jobs and I had just left my first job out of college that had proven to have been a wonderful experience, but a difficult environment for me to deal with. So with that in mind, I knew wanted to post something postive once a week, hence my motivation or inspiration Monday posts. Personally these quotes remind me how I want to lead my life and I hope they inspire yours.
Five or six years down the road, I’ve definitely transformed my thinking. I’m also able to catch my negitive thoughts and words in action and I’m able to correct them. I’m not perfect and that’s deifnitly not the point, but take it from someone who knows, there’s nothing good about living a negitive life. So the next time you have a negitive thought, tell the negitive committee in your head to shut up and sit down!
