I’m very lucky that early on my Mom told me that not every one is going to like me. I’ve always lived my life totally ok with the fact that there are people that will just not like me, there are people who won’t want to be my friend and will only wish the worst for me – and that’s ok. I’ve also met a lot of people who can’t deal with that fact. I couldn’t imagine having to learn that lesson in my 20s. My advice on this is simple, fuck people who aren’t on your wavelength. If you’re constantly focused on trying so hard to be someone’s friend or to make someone understand you, you’re just waisting your time. There are some people who will never get you. There’s also plenty of people out there who are good for you and who will understand you. Don’t miss out on these people because you’re too focused on the scum. Luckily you can even use the internet and social media to connect with others, so there’s no excuses to dwell on these bad relationships.
