So you decide to throw a Halloween Party on the week of Halloween. Now what? If you’re the queen of last-minute everything, I got you. Here you’ll find all the last-minute decor, snacks, and activities you need to throw and an epic spooky last-minute Halloween Party. It may come as a surprise to you, but I’ll bet you have a lot of these items on hand, or find that they’re easy to grab.
How To Throw A Spooky Last-Minute Halloween Party
Spooky Last-Minute Halloween Party Decor
Candlestick holders. If you don’t have them you can grab them at your local craft store, Amazon prime them or even DIY them using old wine bottles if you’re recycling hasn’t been picked up yet. And more is more. A simple spooky tablescape can consist of a vase with red roses and six lit candles.
Last-minute Michael’s, Joanne’s, Party City or craft store run. Get black napkins, plates, and candlesticks for an extra spooky vibe. And don’t forget to hit up the Halloween Isle. I did really well at Micheal’s last week and everything was 50% off! You never know what you might find!
Amazon favorites. If it’s not too late to order prime, these skeleton hands are the perfect addition to any tablescape or snack tray. Flying bats or butterflies help make any space just a bit creepier. Stick them on your walls and even on your table to add life to your space.
The great outdoors. If you live in an area where you can find some ivy, it makes the most beautiful and equally creepy decor for your tablescape. Just make sure it’s not the poison kind!
Spooky Last-Minute Halloween Party Activities
Pumpkin painting, pumpkin carving. Here in New York, the pumpkins are still abundant. Pumpkin painting or carving with friends is such a fun Halloween activity. Make it a competition and have someone who doesn’t want to participate be the judge! Be sure to grab some newspapers or old cardboard boxes to lay over your table.
Caramel apple decorating. Another last-minute Halloween party favorite of mine is caramel apple decorating. Warm-up caramel dipping sauce and some sides like sprinkles, mini M&Ms, chopped-up nuts, nerds whatever you can find! This is such a fun and easy way for you and your guest to get creative.
Spooky Last-Minute Halloween Party Snacks
Rice crispy treats. These are so quick and easy to make and you can find the recipe on the cereal box! I love making mine into Frankenstein with a little green food coloring and mummies with white candy melts. There are endless options to decorate these so get creative!
Candy/caramel apples. I will say these are a bit more labor-intensive but are totally worth it if you have a little extra time. They also make great party favors. If you’re going to go the candy route, make sure you have a candy thermometer.
Candy Eyes. Your local food or craft store should still have these around, and they make any cheese board instantly spooky! I love adding eyes to my brie in the center of the board.
Strawberry ghosts. I love this as a healthier option and that I can use chocolate for the eye and mouth.
Candy Corn fruit cups. Another healthy option is candy corn fruit cups with homemade whip cream. If you’re in a crunch for time the store-bought whip cream will work fine. But I love how easy it is to make something like this feel special by making the cream yourself. I got pineapple and canteloupe for mine so I don’t have to peel a bunch of oranges!
