My mom has always told me the exact opposite of this post (ie. to always work and to always have my own money and to never rely on anyone to support me), but I think this quote is all to true to many women. I always hear people “joke” and say to someone find a rich man. Hello, a rich guy could suck and much as a poor guy. So why not focus on you and your career and find someone you actually like, no? You don’t want to be a liberal woman obsessed with her career? Fucking open up a charity, teach cooking classes, sell all your stuff on eBay and move to an island, but whatever you do, always be able to support yourself. You’ll never find love when you’re just looking for a dollar sign.
So if that’s not motivation enough to wake up and kick some Monday ass, I don’t know what is. Oh wait yes I do know actually. The answer is shoes, buy some new shoes (with your own hard earned money).

But I do believe most women today like to carry them selfs, rather than having a man pay for everything.

Agreed, there’s 100% more of an effort made by most women now than there was in the past!
