As we swap out our wardrobe and bring out the boots and sweaters for Fall, it’s important that we change our beauty routine too. After a long Summer of sun and rosé, your skin deserves a refresh and some much needed TLC. I’ve talked about this before, as it’s essential to prep your skin for the change in season. Today I’m going to share how to prep your skin for fall with Olie face oils.

What I love about Olie Biologique is that it was created out of necessity. Founder and creator, Linda Thompson, was given oil to use on her face from a pharmacy in Paris when her skin was dehydrated from travel. Almost immediately, she was hooked. When Thompson couldn’t find a clean, safe, high-performance face oil in the US, she decided to create her own. Olie Biologique was born. All of the Olie oils blends are 100% natural with no parabens, synthetic colors or artificial fragrances, and no animal testing.

How to prep your skin for fall with Olie face oils

Morning

Exfoliate your face. I prefer exfoliating in the morning, I find it makes my skin look brighter and ready for the day when done first thing. You can buy a face scrub from your local drug store or even make it yourself. If you’re going to take the homemade route I suggested organic unrefined virgin coconut oil with some brown sugar and coffee grinds. Or you can simply use a washcloth. But be gentle. You’re not trying to rub the skin off your face, this should not hurt.

Next, moisturize with Huile Radicale Rejuvenating Face Oil. This organic blend diminishes dark circles and puffiness by hydrating and detoxifying.

If you want to add on any serums, do that now. I find the oil does enough to moisturize my skin, so the only other item I’ll add is my anti-aging serum.

Finally, protect your face with SPF.

**You can exfoliate three to four times a week or as needed. Too much exfoliating can irritate your skin so it’s best to try one morning and see how you like it.

Night

Overnight masks are one of my favorite ways to get my skin hydrated in the Fall. If you’re a morning shower person like I am, in the evening you can steam your face over the sink to create a skin spa to make sure your oil really soaks in. Here’s how:

First, with a clean face, turn the water on in your sink and wait until it gets nice and hot.

Next, throw a towel over your head and drape your head over the sink. This will create a little steam room for your face, which will open your pores. DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT WATER. Stay there for two-three minutes.

Pat your face dry and take 4-5 drops of your Huile Claire Calming Face Oil and gently massage into your face, don’t forget your neck! The Lavender and Chamomile blend harmoniously to calm, tone and balance your skin, making it a great overnight mask!

If you’re looking for extra moisture, layer your moisturizer on top, or mix the oil in with your moisturizer then apply!

**If you shower at night there’s no need to open your pores (unless you take a cold shower).  Applying your oil on overnight following your shower will have the same effect.

Shower

After a long Summer in the sun, my skin starts to heal and becomes a bit dry. That is why it’s important to exfoliate your body too. Exfoliating helps remove dry/dead skin cells on the surface of your skin.

Before your shower, run a dry brush all over your body. Dry brushing helps detoxify the skin by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. It’s also a great way to exfoliate your body! Again, a washcloth will work too, but trust me a dry brush is much easier.

Next, you can add some Shave Oil to the areas of your body you will shave OR you can use the oil post-shower to moisturize where you’ve shaved. I personally prefer oil post-shower.

I use natural deodorant and it causes my underarms to become dry. The oil has helped my underarms exponentially! There are no more red patches or dry skin.

**Dry Brush one to two times per week or as you feel dry or as your skin starts to look dull!

Take Action

Today it’s so easy to hear about self-care and taking care of ourselves mentally and physically, but it’s your job to take action. As much as I wish it were true, quick fixes do not exist. So if you start to prep your skin for Fall now, at the start, by the end of the year you will have glowing hydrated skin! And who doesn’t want that?
