Fashion: Work Style

I haven’t had any jewelry inspiration lately, so today I’m going to talk about making your wardrobe part of you “workdrobe.” I think we all have a lot of staple items in our closet, for example, black/white go to blouse, black blazer, black dress pants, and LBD. These items can almost always transition into your work style. Here are a few of my most recent work looks…

Blazer: Nasty Gal, similar | Blouse: Forever 21, similar | Pants: H&M | Shoes: Vince Camuto | Bracelets: SimoneJ jewelry

Most of these looks are more generic than my usual more calculated outfits, but I like situational dressing. Let’s face it, I’m not going to wear my new hot pink (it’s very pink AND bright) blazer to work, I’m just not. Well, maybe I will. Trust me, the yellow and green are not as vibrant. But, right now I’m still new and I’m just not looking to be so noticed just yet. I’d rather have my work speak for itself first.

Blazer: Lord & Taylor, brand is Love Ady | Top: Zara | Pants: Loft, similar | Shoes: Vince Camuto | Bracelet: Tory Burch, similar

I like dressing the part while adding my own style. For me, someone who worked in retail for so long, it is important to add color into my looks. It’s so standard for me to go for black all the time. So if I do wear a black dress I try to wear a colored blazer or cardigan. You can even wear a colored heel.

From Left to Right: Pink Blazer: Forever 21, similar | Black Dress: Necessary Clothing | Tan Blazer: H&M, similar | White Blouse: Aqua Bloomingdales, similar | Orange Skirt: Forever 21 | Orange Toned Necklace: Charming Charlie’s, similar | Orange Blazer: Nasty Gal, similar | White Top: Unknown | Pants: H&M | Shoes are all Vince Camuto

If you noticed throughout these pictures, I usually have a staple piece on. You can always dress up black crop pants with a floral blouse. Or patterned pants with a black blouse and a bright blazer.

You also don’t have to spend a ton of money. Some of my favorite staple pieces come from H&M, Zara, Forever 21 and Necessary Clothing. I order almost everything online and I almost never have a problem with items not running true to size. I always call the customer service number and ask if I have a question about something.

Speaking of work, I have to go get ready myself. I hope this inspires you to dress up your work wardrobe a bit! Thanks for reading!

XO,

Simone

I love that, some things I will be prefaring buying a bit more expensive because of the quality – but other than that cheap is gooood.
Statement jewelry I never spend much on 🙂
