Fashion Friday, How To: Restyling

You know when you love a piece of clothing, but it’s so distinct that you know everyone’s going to realize you’ve already worn it? Today, I’m going to show you something I love, and how I’ve restyled it to change the overall look. This skirt originally appeared in this post. Let’s take a look at the first style..

So the pictures above are of the first way I styled this skirt. It was at the very beginning of Fall so it was sill warm outside, but I was eager to transition into Fall colors. This skirt is made from a heavy material so at the time, no stockings and the sheer lightweight blouse were perfect. Fast forward to now, I want to wear this skirt again. I love the embossed paisley print and the color, it’s too pretty to only wear once or twice. Lets take a look at the new outfit..

So I nixed the sandals and the sheer blouse. I added, a heavy cowl neck sweater, tights, suede wedge booties and a cape. Heavy tights and stockings are the only way to wear a skirt in New York in the Fall/Winter at least personally. Did I mention I’m always freezing?

DSC_0038I love pulling things out my closet that end up working together. I was so happy when I saw that the trimming on this cape matched the skirt perfectly! Always shop in your closet first!
