Throwing parties for myself has always given me the ick. It makes me wonder how I ended up on the internet sharing my life as the two seem to go hand-in-hand. The more significant the social presence the more extensive the party. That doesn’t mean I don’t love throwing an event, just not for myself.
My best friend of nineteen years is getting married in August. I have the privilege of being her matron of honor. Sidebar: let’s retire maid and matron of honor as titles and come up with something new. The first weekend in June the bridal party threw a coastal bachelorette weekend in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Getting carried away is a strong suit of mine. I started saving, pinning, and gathering everything that made for the best bachelorette party. Themes, games, gifts, decorations so much planning can go into throwing a bachelorette party. Make it an entire four-day weekend and you can easily go overboard (no pun intended).
Today I’m sharing everything you need to host a coastal bachelorette weekend in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Everything You Need To Host a Coastal Bachelorette Weekend
The best locations for a coastal bachelorette party
Massachusetts
Cape Cod – If you’re looking for a wholesome bachelorette weekend, we stayed at a VRBO in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. The home sleeps 10 adults and has a pool, jacuzzi, and tons of games, a heated pool, and a fire pit. It was everything our bride wanted and the perfect coastal getaway. If a VRBO isn’t your style I would definitely check out Chatham Bars Inn. I’ll share more about our experience in the food section.
Boston – A fun girls’ weekend with great food and drinks I would definitely pick Boston. This historic port right on the water will give you a coastal feel with all the life and partying you’re looking for.
Rhode Island
Westerly – Perched atop the bluffs in Watch Hill Rhode Island you’ll find Ocean House. If you’re looking for a luxe bachelorette and you have the wallet to back your trip you won’t regret your time here. The hospitality makes your stay worth every penny. Plus there’s always a fresh new activation on their terrace and the Veuve Clicquot secret garden champagne bar.
New York
North Fork – If you’re new here, my in-laws own a home on the North Fork. I’ve been heading out east every summer for around 12 years now. A few years back I stayed at The Harvest Inn Bed & Breakfast for the first time and wow was it amazing. It would be fun to rent a few rooms here, do a wine tasting across the street, and enjoy all the life and food Greenport offers!
Montauk – Another great idea for a fun coastal bachelorette would be a stay at Gurney’s Montauk. From the Spa to the beach, you can make this trip as lively or as chill as the group wants!
Things to do in Cape Cod Massachusetts for a Bachelorette
L to R: Chatham Bars Inn Beach House Grill, Lobster Nachos and drinks from the Beach House Grill
Beach House Grill – Open 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM (closed Tues. Weds.). Perfect lunch spot right on the beach. Get the lobster roll and if you have a large group the the Beach House Plateau was exceptional. You can walk right into the town of Chatham from here, we all grabbed some sweatshirts and ice cream from Brick Block (they had dairy-free flavors as well!).
The Verandah – We arrived at Chatham Bars Inn after 3:00 PM so we ended up at the Verandah. We ordered off the dinner menu and shared the fritto misto and some cocktails (I loved the Hugh Bliss). Following this more of the girls arrived and we had drinks adjacent with live music playing, it was a perfect first evening!
Caroline’s Bar & Grill – A local favorite, the lobster roll was out of this world. This was a super casual dinner that could have been followed with drinks inside if you were looking for a longer evening. It was around 30 minutes from our house so we opted to go back home and enjoy some drinks and s’mores by the fire.
Spoon & Seed – We grabbed brunch at this casual spot on our way home and it was exceptional. Highly recommend pancakes for the table.

Things we didn’t get to do but were highly recommended either online or by the bride’s family who spend their summer’s on the Cape:

We did a Team Bride guestbook filled with Polaroids from the weekend as a take-home gift for the bride. It’s such a nice way to remember the weekend, everyone wrote personal notes inside too.
Don’t forget a balloon pump if you’re going to DIY balloon decor.
Invitations and Itinerary for a coastal bachelorette party
I purchased itineraries from the Luxe Bride Shop on Etsy and had a local mom-owned custom design business All In The Details Print them for me. Krystal is amazing and had I had more time I would have had her help me design something custom.

The bedhead pajamas were a total hit, make sure you get the sunglasses too for photos! We also grabbed I Do Crew plastic cups by Branded by Bri a small women-owned business!
