I grew up drawn to the creative process. Whether it was drawing, painting, crafting, beading, cooking, you name it, I’ve tried it, or at least thought about it. I love the feeling that you can only know when something you’ve created is finally ‘done’. Or is it?
When I was in my teens I made my first vision board. But then it was just a collage that happened to be taped directly to the back wall of my bedroom. These magazine clippings, doodles I’d cut out from my notebooks from school, ribbons, and photographs with friends, would take over an entire side of my room by the time I was eighteen.
This interest in the act of building led me to a degree in business. But quickly I realized something was missing. The hunt for the perfect item, the beauty in the unexpected, different textures, the composition, a feeling that the process of sourcing evoked for me, couldn’t be found in a conference room. Thus, I created this little home here online, my blog.
For years I would hold onto the thought that I forged my path. Attending business school, paying off those student loans, and that an executive role in the corporate world would one day fill the void. But I couldn’t even decide what area of business I would want to plant my roots in so to speak.
I worked a job in finance and held onto my sales job at a department store until I landed a job in New York City at a legendary fashion house. Ah, this must be the place. But still, I could not walk away from my blog. This space became a community, my friends, how could I just stop?
In 2020 so much changed. I bought a home in Westchester County with my then-boyfriend, lost my job, got married three months later, and finally took the leap (arguably the universe made it for me) to make content creation my business. My full-time job.
Since then we got a dog and had a baby girl. I’ll forever be thankful for the community that has shown up here. This has allowed me to somehow make a living from the place that started as a creative outlet. Most days I still can’t believe it. I’ve made a business instead of working for one. It’s funny how things pan out.

Thanks girl! I own a Nikon D330 camera and I usually use a 1.8 D 50mm nikkor lens . My photographer (her name is Amanda Elle and I always tag her in the posts if she took the photos) uses a high end cannon camera. Hope that helps! ?
Neat blog my friend. Thanks for stopping by today and visiting mine.
