4 Skincare Products I Trust When My Skin is Very Sensitive

4 Skincare Products I Trust When My Skin is Very Sensitive - Beauty - Lifestyle - Simply by Simone #westchester #blogger #lifestyle #beauty #skincare #beautyblogger #skincareblogger #bestskincare #clinique #supergoop #elemis

In terms of this post, my skin became very sensitive after I sprayed my face with setting spray that gave me hives for five days. I was allergic to an ingredient in the product. Each month I’m gifted a number of beauty and skincare products. So for the number of products I try I would say my skin is normally easy going. And in general, my skin is on the dry side and a bit sensitive. Especially during Winter.

Today I wanted to share with you 4 products I trust when my skin is very sensitive. Sometimes my skin is very sensitive because I used a harsh product my skin didn’t agree with. Other times it’s because I got too much sun or it’s the dead of Winter and my skin is the driest of dry.

Product breakdown…

  1. Elemis Nourishing Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil – When I had hives I knew I wanted to use a cleanser that would not exfoliate my face so this was an easy choice. It’s gentle yet moisturizing which is what I felt my skin needed.
  2. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer – A holy grail product that I always refill (more products I always refill). I’ve been using DDM since I was 12 or 13 years old and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. It’s lightweight and has no smell!
  3. Supergoop! Superscreen Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 – I always wear SPF, but I knew my skin needed some extra TLC with the hives. I added a bit of this over my face oil.
  4. Elemis Superfood Facial Oil – This has been perfect on my cheekbones that are still very dry and sensitive. This is liquid gold if you need major hydration. I rub it in before the Supergoop!

These are 4 skincare products I trust the most. Although I receive a lot of skincare products, I’m very particular with items that I try on my face because I would never want to permanently damage my skin with a product that doesn’t agree with me. I’m lucky that the setting spray I used only gave me hives. Because I have somewhat sensitive skin, knowing what ingredients bother my skin is important.

Why I’m not disclosing what setting spray gave me hives…

My number one reason is that the product is not faulty. The hives were 100% from hyaluronic acid in the spray. The spray itself was 70% organic, hypoallergenic, vegan, and noncomedogenic. In addition, the product was made by a brand I trust. I also use other products by this brand that I love. Products react differently on everyone so it’s important to know what ingredients don’t work for you or don’t agree with you. I should have been smarter knowing hyaluronic acid does not work for me! Especially to use it before an event I was speaking at. Who does that?? *facepalm*

And if you must know – I haven’t posted about this brand in ages, so it’s nothing I’ve posted about recently!
