Every year is a fresh start. This past year kind of felt a bit stagnant for me. Not bad, but not amazing. As we enter the New Year I’m striving to be so much more than I was last year. Which means setting new goals and achieving some I didn’t complete last year. I hope you are too! So, today I’m sharing my 2019 New Year goals! This year I pledge…
Scrolling the feed is so time-consuming. If you follow me on Instagram you know I’ve been talking about this a lot. Your smartphone and all social media, and basically every app we use are made to be addicting. Personally, I’m just done with letting something control so much of my time. I love Instagram and I love checking out what my friends are doing, but there needs to be some control. So this year I’ll be scrolling the feed a lot less.
Which leads me to my next point, to stay in my lane. We all at one time have compared ourselves to others. Social media shows us the best of everyone’s lives. For me, this almost makes my own path a bit confusing. I find myself asking myself, how did they do that? Why didn’t I do this? I just can’t anymore. It’s such an old boring game and it causes me to follow paths other than my own. So this year I pledge to put my blinders up and to focus on myself and where I want to go.
I love being able to help others. Some of my most rewarding experiences in 2018 were hosting the NYFW show at Bloomingdale’s where students from Westchester Community College walked the runway, speaking at Marist, attending a gift wrapping charity event hosted by Bundles of Joy and all of my holiday giveaways on Instagram. You can definitely look forward to more giveaways in 2019!
Since I’ll be on my phone less, I want to use my wasted scrolling time on something good, reading. I’ve recently gotten into more inspiring books, I mean I guess you would call them self help but that sounds so cliche and boring to me. And what I’ve been reading is everything but. I plan on sharing what I learn on my Motivation Monday posts (yes, they’re coming back in 2019!) and newsletter. The more I learn the more I can share.
I also need to learn how to relax. I feel like I always say it but this year I’m going to try and leave Sunday for nothing. No food store, no blog stuff, no workouts nothing. This may make my Saturday’s insane, but I really need to schedule some me time once a week and at least force it until I learn how to work it in better. What do you do to relax?
Westchester I love you! I’m going to host a number of events where everyone can connect in 2019, stay tuned! I also love it so much here I’ll finally be finding a home! Last year I wasn’t as ready as I thought, but I have a feeling this year is going to be better than ever! So what better time than now.
Be sure to sign up for my newsletter here, next Monday I’ll be sending out three tips that help me achieve my goals!
What’s your number one goal for the new year?
Oh my, this graphic is so so beautiful! What programs do you use to create them if I may ask? Looking forward to more from you soon!
